NFL Game to be Aired on Amazon instead of National TV
Brand: NFL
Platform: Amazon Prime, Twitch
Reach: N/A
Time: Dec 26

A recent extension of a deal between Amazon and the NFL back in April has given Amazon its first “exclusive” weekend football game. The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals game on December 26th will still be able to be viewed on local channels in Arizona and Northern California, but national viewers will only be able to see it on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch. While Amazon will continue their exclusive streaming rights for Thursday Night games through 2022, the new deal also allows them to host one “weekend exclusive” game per season. Amazon started purchasing rights to air NFL games back in 2017. Amazon’s livestreams include their X-Ray feature, where viewers can view instant replays whenever they want. It will be interesting to see if Amazon and the NFL expand the deal in the coming seasons to include more “streaming only” national broadcasts.

LIVENow showcasing world-class livestream concerts

While music fans still aren’t able to attend concerts in person, the streaming platform LIVENow has been meeting a growing demand for epic livestream versions of the events we all miss so much. The success of two recent concert experiences from Dua Lipa and Gorillaz have shown that just because there aren’t any fans in the seats, doesn’t mean you should skimp on production value.

The Dua Lipa “Studio 2054” concert on November 27th, which was said to have cost around $1.5 million to put on, sold around 260k tickets, with an estimated 5 million viewers when accounting for multiple people under the same household watching with one “ticket”. Lipa was joined by a heavy hitting lineup of guest performers including Elton John, FKA twigs, Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, and Kylie Minogue. Fans could still access the concert on LIVENow’s website until December 16th for $10.
