We all need a boost now and then, and this might be just the thing....
Hello Island Friends and Neighbors,
You may have noticed I've been gradually adding more affordable learning opportunities to the services that I offer.
Two classes begin this week, and even if they may not be for you at this time, no doubt you know someone who can benefit from them. I hope you will help me by sharing this information.
Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance is an evidence-based Fall Prevention program for seniors and people with balance issues. Besides improving muscle strength, reflexes, focus, and cognition, like traditional Tai Chi, it also helps improves mind/body connection and offers layers of systemic benefits. What this means is students gain more confidence in venturing out into the world - whether it's simply walking more around town, or hiking rutted trails. It begins tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/1), at 10:30 am, Friday Harbor Dance Studio, 55 Second Street. For more information click here.
5 Dragons Shamanic Qigong is for all adults who are looking to help balance their physical, emotional, and spiritual health. This form is similar to Tai Chi, though done in place. It has a profound way of changing the inner landscape to produce long-range benefits on many levels. This class begins Thursday, May 2, at 5:30 pm, also at Friday Harbor Dance Studio. Please, only a very light snack (if anything) before you show up, not a full meal. To get more information on this class click here.
Both Tai Chi and Qigong are ancient self-healing practices, and now modern science is proving their effectiveness on chronic disorders. In my research I've found hundreds of published studies on these two healing modalities.
I've been working diligently to bring both Tai Chi and Qigong to islanders on a regular and affordable basis for all. I'm counting on you to help me offer these programs on a sustainable level. Thank you so much for your continued support.
