Veteran's Day Run

Come out Wednesday November 11th for a run to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. We will meet at 0515 at the new Family Courthouse located at 1555 W. Main St and run 1.7 miles to Post 34 of the American Legion. There we will recite the Pledge of Allegiance and do a quick bootcamp and head back to the courthouse. Bring a shovel flag and join us for a great morning to honor those who have served. For more information, see: Ponytail & JAG

Camino Del Rio Update

Attention Rock Region Brothers! Camino Del Rio will transition into a trail running/rucking AO for the next two weeks.  On November 14th and November 21st we will launch from the Camino AO and jog the short distance to the trail head.  From there you can run, ruck, or hike, the beautiful single track Riverwalk trails.  Come out and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather and amazing views of the Catawba River and surrounding woodland. Deer sightings are guaranteed.  This is the perfect place to train for a race or take your first trail running steps. AO launches at 0700. If you need more info reach out to Gauge or River Rat.

November Word of The Month

November's word of the month is Hospitality.

“In 1997, while Rosaria Butterfield was researching the Religious Right ‘and their politics of hatred against people like me [a member of the LGBT community],’ she wrote an article against the Promise Keepers. A response to that article triggered a meeting with Ken Smith, who became a resource on the Religious Right and their Bible, a confidant, and a friend.”

I want to direct your attention to the last word in the quote above: friend. Over the course of the months that followed their initial meeting, Ken Smith and his family simply invited Rosaria into their home with an authentic intentionality that was fueled by the gospel. By inviting her to join in their family dinners where there were continuous conversations about the gospel, Rosaria witnessed their family devotions and love displayed through Christ. Her time with them eventually led to her salvation and conversion to Christianity. Read More.

Weekly Q Source Topic -TEAM DEVELOPMENT (Q4.6)

The Formation And Deployment Of A Dynamic Team

Dynamic Teams are essential to both Communities and Organizations

A Community exists solely to respond to the human need of its Members to dwell in close Proximity to one another for their mutual benefit. Thus, as a Group, it is a place to be rather than a thing that does. Because Community Membership is passive, requiring nothing more than general adherence to law and mores to be in good standing, a Community has no organic means with which to respond to urgent needs or external threat. Thus, it must depend upon Teams for the provision of security, the seeking of Advantage and the promotion of Shared Virtue. As a result, a Community without Dynamic Teams is at existential risk. Communities, as Groups that be, must be supported by Teams, the Groups that do. Read More
