Dear <<First Name>>,
I want to tell you about Karin. A single mother of three kids, she was working as a human resources manager until she was laid off in 2013, losing her income and health insurance. Several months later, she suffered a massive heart attack that resulted in a severe brain injury and a long, difficult recovery. She had to re-learn how to walk, talk, read, write, and more. Her oldest son gave up his full scholarship to college so he could work to support their family. Medical debt, eviction notices, and unpaid bills piled up. It took two and half years to get disability benefits.

"Only now when I look back can I understand the scope of physical, emotional, and financial tolls it took on our family," Karin says.

But Karin is a fighter. When a friend told her about EMPath’s mentoring program, she decided to join. She began working with a mentor and, step by step, her life started to improve. She landed a part-time job as a cashier in a hardware store and saw her skills and confidence begin to return. In early 2019, Karin was offered an office manager position at a multi-billion-dollar company, doing a job she loves and earning more than ever before. Today, she and her children are doing great and their family is thriving.

“EMPath has taught me to focus on the positive, the magic of believing in myself, the rewards of setting goals and working hard to accomplish them, and the value of starting with baby steps and progressing to leaps and bounds,” Karin says. “Where I am right now in my life would truly not be possible without EMPath.”
EMPath’s breakthrough coaching approach began as a pilot program 10 years ago with 20 families. Today, it has become a proven model for helping people, like Karin, achieve lasting economic independence:

On average, graduates of EMPath's five-year flagship program increase their annual income from $16,608 per year to $46,138. That's a whopping 178% increase.
In 2009, 1% of EMPath program participants in shelter built up their savings. In 2019, that number jumped to 60% — amazing!
With all this success, we’ve still only scratched the surface of supporting families. With your continued support, even more families will be able to achieve economic independence. I hope you will consider supporting EMPath before the year is over.
