FLOW Strawberry Festival Update

The Friends of the Library of Windham’s Strawberry Festival and Book Fair has been a part of the community for 36 years. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the 2020 Strawberry Festival. After consulting with our board, the library staff, and town safety officials, we've decided holding a gathering of this size in early June would not be a responsible decision.
We would like to thank the community for always supporting the festival and helping F.L.O.W. raise money for the Nesmith Library. We would also like to thank the many local businesses that have sponsored the festival or donated raffles and goods. The Friends are thinking of you during this difficult time and encourage the community to continue supporting these generous businesses. Last but not least, we would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers who have worked at the festival over the years. The reason the festival would have been in its 37th year is that the entire community comes together for a day of books, food, entertainment, and fun!
The Strawberry Festival committee and F.L.O.W. board are brainstorming ways to commemorate this special day and all it means to the community so be on the lookout for further announcements!
Stay safe and well, friends.

We are starting to collect community stories about your experience of this unique time in history. This collection will be made available to the public in the near future and will be retained for historical research. Please consider submitting your story: we are looking for responses from residents of all ages of Windham. Respond using our Google Form, or visit our website to learn more and download a print copy, which you can submit through the mail.

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD:
  • We have shared a lot of updates as the situation has evolved in town and in the world. We hope we have reached a lot of our patrons, but we know there are people who use the library who won't see our posts on Facebook, etc. Please call your neighbors, friends, and family who may have missed these updates, and who may benefit from our services and resources. We hope everyone in the community knows that Nesmith librarians are still here to support you, whether it's through research databases to help with your remote learning, digital reading apps you can access with your library card, or free virtual resources available without a library card. Please email us or send us a Facebook message with any questions at all and we will do our best to help!
Please continue to check our website for resources and updates, or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Thank you.
