Welcome back after half term!  It will be summer holidays before we know it and then our older children will sadly be leaving us to embark on new adventures!  We have lots to do before that happens though, please see below for how to get involved!
News
Parent Consultations Younger Children - This is an opportunity for you to meet with your child's key person to discuss their progress. Appointment dates and times will be emailed round for you to sign up to towards the end of June.  If you are unable to attend please speak with Amy or Kirsten to arrange a convenient time. (Older children had their parent consultations back in February).
Requests to Parents
Bag2School - You should have found a Bag2School envelope in your post pocket before the half term.  Please can you fill with an old clothes etc (if you haven't done already) and drop it off at pre-school on Wednesday 12th June before 9am.
Pre-School Committee - We are still short of volunteers to cover off some of the key roles within the committee for the academic year commencing September 2019.  To those of who you who are still with us next year, please do consider volunteering to enable the Pre-School to operate in the way you have all come to know and love.  For more information on the roles, please contact me, Alison Davies by return email.

Communication Books - If you have any questions or queries related to you child, we ask for you to either use your child's communication book or to arrange a time, within pre-school hours, to meet with your child's key person or the Pre-School Manager.  We politely ask that you do not approach or contact Pre-School staff outside of Pre-School to discuss private matters.

Sun Hats - With the warmer weather hopefully (!) heading our way please can you make sure your child had a named sun hat with them at pre-school and that sun-cream is applied before they come to pre-school.  For children attending all day either apply the 8 hour protection sun cream or bring in a named bottle of sun-cream so that staff can apply it at lunchtime.  This will only apply on the days that your child comes in for a full day.
Early Years Advisor
As part of our ongoing commitment to staff professional development, all key staff have recently visited other settings or have visits planned during this term.  These visits help us to establish relationships with other settings, including schools, and enable us to see how different settings offer the curriculum.  We are keen to bring back fresh ideas for new resources or ways of working, which will help ensure that we offer your children the most appropriate activities and experiences to challenge them and extend their learning.
Events & Dates for Your Diary
Sports Day - Monday 15th July

You will receive an email shortly with details of timings, the colour T-shirt and number that you will need to organise for your child. Please let Amy or Kirsten know if you have any questions following what you have read.

In brief: all children (Lions and Tigers) should arrive at 8.50am in sports kit with race number attached. Refreshments will be available for parents/carers/visitors from 8.50am until the races start and also after the event has finished.  The races are due to start at 9.15am in the Jubilee Hall.  Children can be collected by parents/carers at about 10.15am.

There will be no Tigers session in the afternoon following Sports Day on 15th July as we will all need a lie-down and a cold flannel on our brows!
End of Year Picnic - Friday 19th July

This will be part of the last session for the older children and so, whilst parents/carers are welcome, you need not attend if you do not wish to. Younger children at the Pre-School are warmly invited to join the older children to wish them well as they move on to school, but please note that they must be supervised by their parent/carer. The picnic will start at 12.15pm in the Pre-School garden. We look forward to seeing you there with your lunchboxes!
