News
Staff Update - Staff have been using the sign language, learnt from our Makaton course in January, everyday at Pre-School and it is wonderful to see how quickly the children have picked it up.  In addition to the weekly number, sound, shape and colour we will be adding a Makaton sign for the children to learn. If you want to be building up your own Makaton vocabulary of signs then you can subscribe to "sign of the week" via the Makaton homepage.

Parent Survey - Thank you to everyone who completed the annual parent survey.  We are currently reviewing the feedback and will be back in touch soon with our thoughts and planned actions.

Coming Soon! - Exciting areas are being created to further develop valuable learning opportunities and experiences for our pre-schoool children:

Bespoke gardening area - There will opportunities for the children to be planting vegetables, fruits and flowers, watching them blossom and learning how they can help them to grow over the seasons as they learn about the world, change and evolution.   Keep an eye out for this, if you head to the scooter park area you will be able to see it evolving through the gate. Children who grow their own food are more likely to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and through our focus gardening groups we will be able to take the opportunity to reinforce the need for eating healthily. So, if you are a keen gardener and would like to come and help do some gardening with the children please come and speak with Pip or Amy.

A multi purpose quiet room and sensory area -The quiet room will have the addition of sensory resources such as a large lava lamp, L.E.D mirror tunnels,  fibre  optics and a star projector to create a space that invites and encapsulates calm and wonder.  For children to have an area where their senses can be stimulated will satisfy their natural curious, inquisitive minds as they watch and touch shapes as they mould and gel together.

Shoebox appeal update - Our shoeboxes were sent to the Middle East! Thank you for being part of sending Good News and Great Joy to 678,942 children in Eastern Europe, Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East! Your kindness equips thousands of churches and groups around the world to reach out generously to children in need. Your thoughtful gifts show the children who receive your shoeboxes that you love them and that God loves them too, as they get to hear the Christmas story of the greatest gift of all - Jesus.

Requests to Parents
Pre-School Photos - We have now set the date for the children to have their pictures taken on 25th April (after the Easter Holidays).  Please can you complete this link to confirm you would like their picture taken and to provide details of any younger siblings who you would like to bring along.
Early Years Advisor

Smile Award Plus+ - Following an NHS training workshop on dental health, held at the September Inset Day, you may have noticed that we are now proudly displaying our certificate of endorsement.  This means that we have demonstrated a whole setting approach to good oral health and its key messages.  In practice, this means that children learn about oral health during their time at the pre-school and that children here eat healthy, tooth-friendly foods and drinks.  However, it is clearly important that parents support us in this and one vital way in which you can do so is by providing your child with an appropriately-packed lunchbox.  Please follow the guidance on this link.
