Who are LifeBridgers?

We want you to know the people we feel so blessed to serve alongside of. We think LifeBridgers are pretty awesome and the best part is how unique each person's story is. So, we want to spend a little time each month telling you about them.
Meet Sean and Shelley Blacksten.  The knowledge and experience that the Blackstens bring to LifeBridge has been incredible.  Sean and Shelley are missionaries with International Mission Board (IMB) and have served in Spain and Germany and now serve all of Latin America in Care Ministry. We are so grateful they call Panama City and LifeBridge home.

Sean and Shelley had previously been a part of an IBC church in Germany, so when they landed in Panama, they knew they wanted to be involved with another IBC church.  They serve on our worship team as well as aiding in the Leadership of LifeBridge.

The Blacksten's are loved by the LifeBridge community and Nate and I are incredibly grateful for what they bring to the church community and to us personally.

Sean and Shelley are from Amarillo, Texas, but have lived outside the US for 20 years.

Vision Sunday

On Sunday, February 3 we had Vision Sunday, a morning all about where LifeBridge is headed in 2019. We know God has exciting things in store and we are so excited to be a part of his work here in Panama City.

Our focus areas this year are Genersity, Outreach and Discipleship.  More specifically, generously giving of our time so people know they are loved and cared for by LifeBridge people; reaching out to our community with events in which people have such a good time that they return to attend a Sunday service; and investing in discipleship so that it becomes contagious.

As we shared the vision, everyone was encouraged to consider how God might be using them at LifeBridge and how they too can be a part of what is happening.

In each newsletter we will share a tid-bit about Panamanian life. Something unique, interesting or fun.

The Pope in Panama. January was a crazy month in Panama City. World Youth Day (which includes a visit from the Pope) was held here in Panama during the last week of January. The influx of visitors gave a different vibe to the city and although much speculation about all that could go wrong, Panama survived. (Although, we did stock up on bottled water, since many people speculated we would lose water- but we never did :)

Curious about life in Panama? What questions do you have for us? Let us know, we would love to share about topics that interest you about our country.

Praise & Prayer

We deeply appreciate your prayers for us and LifeBridge.

  • Praise for Vision Sunday, a day that created excitement for the year ahead.
  • Pray for our goals and areas of concentration this year: Generosity, Outreach, and Discipleship. Pray that we would have new people stepping up and getting involved in these areas.
  • Pray for meetings we will host here for the LATAM (Latin America) IBC churches at the end of February. Pray the meetings would be beneficial to the Pastors attending and provide encouragement and excitement around church planting.
  • Pray that Nate and Jendi would have wisdom, patience and seek the Lord as we plan for the future.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
