Who are LifeBridgers?

We want you to know the people we feel so blessed to serve alongside of. We think LifeBridgers are pretty awesome and the best part is how unique each person's story is. So, we want to spend a little time each month telling you about them.
Meet Tiago, Cristina and Maria Clara. They have been attending for longer than we have been here. Cristina serves on our worship and outreach teams and Tiago on the media team.

Cristina is from  Panama and Tiago from Portugal. The couple met while both working abroad and then returned to Panama where sweet Maria Clara was born.

This young family enjoys the welcoming congregation, sense of belonging and pragmatic sermons. We are so glad to have them as a part of our LifeBridge community.

Walking with Purpose

For the second year in a row we participated in the FANLYC (Fundación Amigos del Niño con Leucemia y Cáncer) Relay for Life, an event raising funds for childhood cancer. LifeBridge participated by walking as a team. It is a great community event as many of the large corporations, schools, and the community participates. It was fun to be united in our LifeBridge tshirts and be a part of the greater community here in Panama.

When in Rome...and Naples

At the end of October we gathered with 80+ pastors, wives, and ministry leaders who serve all over the world. We convened in Naples, Italy for the International Baptist Conventions Annual Meeting. It was 3 days of business meetings, but more than that was time with our colleagues who serve in transient, international churches, like LifeBridge, all over Europe and Latin America.

Immediately after that, we were assessors for a Church Planters Assessment. The assessment is a 2 day process that couples go through to see if they are equipped to plant churches with the IBC. We are always grateful to be  part of this opportunity for new planters, as it was so helpful for us when we started going through the process to come to Panama. We were on a team of 12 assessors and there were 3 couples participating. It's work that we do not take lightly, as we are speaking into these people's lives as they consider where God is leading them.

At the end of our trip, we were able to take a few days to be tourist in Italy. A highlight of that time was a pre-dawn bike tour of Rome. So grateful for our time in Italy as it was encouraging to be with our colleagues from around the world....and the pasta and gelto were pretty awesome too :)

We will be in the States for some time at the beginning of December. We are looking forward to being at Calvary Chapel Central Bucks on Sunday, December 1st during all of their services to share about our ministry in Panama.
In each newsletter we will share a tid-bit about Panamanian life. Something unique, interesting or fun.

The Embera, an indigenous community of Panama, managed to cook the largest patacon in the world, which entered the Guinness World Records.

Pretty impressive to cook up a nearly 250 pound patacon. If you aren't familiar with a patacon (I feel bad, because they are delicious), they are similar to french fries, but made from plantains and formed into a patty.

Curious about life in Panama? What questions do you have for us? Let us know, we would love to share about topics that interest you about our country.

Praise & Prayer

We deeply appreciate your prayers for us and LifeBridge.

  • Praise for Nate and Jendi's time at the IBC Annual Meeting. It was an encouraging time for us and good to be connected in person with those in the IBC.
  • Pray for the holiday season, which starts in the first week of November here in Panama. Pray for our people during a time that can be lonely. With many national holidays in November and the Christmas season right behind it we are entering two months of holiday season.
  • Pray that Nate and Jendi would have wisdom, patience and seek the Lord as we plan for the future.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
