What's New with Dry Hills Distillery

Here at Dry Hills Distillery we have been busy and it's great to kick off the summer with this excitement! At the end of April we celebrated our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. A special thank you to our family and friends that were here to help with the event. We also want to thank the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce for putting on the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, XL Country for the Live Broadcast, Moe's Original BBQ and Grille 406 for keeping everyone fed, Luxe Custom Cupcakes for you sinfully delicious cupcakes, and Hollowtops Band for rockin' it all night! We had a great turn out and appreciate everyone coming down for some amazing cocktails and fun!

Jeff and Erica Droge, the managing members of Dry Hills Distillery were recently interviewed by Prospera/Women's Business Network for their success in opening up the distillery. Jeff and Erica went to Prospera for guidance in the beginning stages to help finalize their business plan and financials while applying for the Grow Through Agriculture Grant, which they were awarded last fall. The interview sparked the conversation of why they founded Dry Hills Distillery and it was stated that, "we set out to create something genuinely unique and special through our spirits that exemplified the character from which they are made. We wanted to make real craft spirits the right way even if it meant doing it the hard way. For years we looked around our family farm with its dark fertile soil and abundance of pure mountain water and felt that we had the perfect platform for creating world class spirits. Whether it be from the premium certified seed potatoes that we raise to the select high country grains, we knew we had the opportunity to create something truly exceptional. By providing a new opportunity to utilize our farms commodities we knew we were not only able to create these new products but also elevate the farms production and marketability."

Through our process we are able to generate something that we are truly proud of, something that we can say that we raise from seed to bottle. We choose only the select ingredients for our products, as everything is hand sorted many times before being brought to the distillery, and we are proud to bring a true handcrafted, Montana made spirit to the table. Being true and authentic is who we are and  that's what you will find in our premium made spirits. The above photos show our potato mash-in process captured by Sunrift Studios.

There are a lot of fun events happening at Dry Hills Distillery these next few months. Make sure to check out our website or Facebook page to see what is happening this weekend! One important event that is near and dear to our hearts is a fundraiser that we are doing for our friend Janell Mattison. She has been fighting breast cancer every day while under going treatments and has a few surgeries ahead of her. The fundraiser will be held on June 11th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. There will be silent auction items, 50/50 raffle, food trucks, music and of course some great custom cocktails. Dry Hills Distillery will be donating a portion of our sales made that evening to Janell. All the proceeds of this benefit will help Janell pay for medial bills and expenses.

Farm Check:
Exciting times out on the farms as we have officially finished planting this years crops. At the beginning of the season it always seems like a daunting task when you are looking over empty fields, realizing that we have several thousand acres to seed with both our certified russet seed potato varieties and mixed cereal grains including, hard red spring wheat, barley, peas and corn. The crews at both Droge Farms, Inc. and London Hills Farm recently completed these tasks and we are thankful for the rain. Coming this fall we will be planting rye for our completely home grown Montana Bourbon Whiskey.
