Registration is from 10:30 am - 11:45 am with starting times from 11:00 am until noon. Follow the signs to shelter #7. The $10 fee ($5 members) includes a 5-color park map and entry into your choice of one of the 4 courses.

A couple more volunteers would be helpful.  Help with registration and control pickup might be needed.  Contact the Meet Director Rod Cameron, or call him at (716) 688-8332 to help out.

Sprague Brook Meet - an Official Olympic Day Event

The Sprague Brook meet is an official Team USA Olympic Day event!

Olympic Day is celebrated annually and is recognized in more than 160 countries. Commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games in 1894, Olympic Day’s mission is to promote fitness, well-being, culture and education, while promoting the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.

All participants in the meet will receive a certificate from the International Olympic Committee. For more information on Olympic Day, visit

While not yet an Olympic sport, Orienteering shares many similarities with other competitive sports. Orienteering USA is the governing body that organizes our national teams, A-meets and youth training programs. The International Orienteering Federation coordinates 70 member countries and creates standardized map and control symbols. Many nationally ranked Orienteers have competed in Buffalo Orienteering Club events over the years. Founded in 1976, we are proud to be one of the longest-serving Orienteering Clubs in the country.

Guided Map Hikes Start July 6th

The club offers map hikes in six area parks allowing you to go orienteering whenever you prefer for whatever time frame you prefer. If you would like to feel more confident traveling the trails in our beautiful Western New York parks or if you'd like a challenge the map hikes might be for you. Our Guided Map Hike Series is a way to get out on the trails finding some controls with an instructor to help you learn better orienteering skills. The Guided Map Hike Series runs in Chestnut Ridge Park  Thursdays from July 6 to July 27. Meet at the Casino by the main parking lot and be ready to start hiking at 6:00 pm.
