On Sep 21, the UN signed a political declaration calling antibiotic resistance “the greatest and most urgent global risk”. Read more about it!

This paper, recently published in the Lancet, looks at baseline data for health-related SDGs in 188 countries and the considerable gains needed to achieve SDG targets.

Something to keep your eye on

The WHO is getting a new director-general! Margaret Chan has been in the role since 2007 and will be stepping down next year. Nominations have just closed. With many feeling the WHO is losing influence, this piece reflects on the past and potential future of the WHO.
