Kelly Zutrau is the songwriter and singer of the synth-pop trio Wet, whose debut album “Don’t You” was released this year on Columbia (check out the hauntingly pretty single Deadwater—I love how Kelly’s vocals manage to be both minimal and emotional simultaneously). They also just released two brand-new singles.) Kelly splits her time between Massachusetts and NYC and also paints and plays autoharp. Catch Wet on tour now.

Some things Kelly loves:
"Samurai Mama in Williamsburg is my favorite restaurant in New York. It reminds me of the food that my mom and grandma cooked for me and my sisters and cousins when we were growing up. Me and my sisters meet here whenever we are missing home. The Udon and small dishes and sushi are all insanely good, especially on a cold day. My favorite thing to get is the Umi Oroshi Udon."
"I was introduced to Sincerely, Tommy, a clothing store in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, and its owner Kai Avent-Deleon, by our stylist last year. Since then I've been in love and make sure to check in regularly to see what's in there. Whether it’s a pair of woven slip-on shoes from Morocco or jackets from designers in Japan or sculptures made by NYC artists, it feels like there are things that you can get here that you can't get anywhere else in the city. I love the clothing, the art, the events Kai puts on, the jewelry, the coffee, everything."
"My favorite cover-up is RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up. It's light and doesn't make me break out and it's made out of coconut oil (I'm always looking for more ways to get coconut oil on me). Also it's reasonably priced considering one container lasts about a year for me. Also, Weleda Almond Facial Oil. My skin is very reactive and turns red/gets really dry/breaks out all very easily but whenever I feel any of that coming on, I throw this on every few hours for a couple days and it helps a lot."
"I end up going to London a lot for work now and The Columbia Hotel is my favorite place I've ever stayed while over there. It's one of the cheaper places where you can stay but the building and rooms and decor are all beautiful and old and charming, and you feel like you're staying in a place where a lot has happened. It's right on Hyde Park so you can wake up and get the complimentary breakfast and walk around the park with your morning coffee."

Hi! I adored the stellar new novel The Mothers, a debut from enormously talented Brit Bennett. It explores friendship, heartbreak, loss, race and betrayal through a story that feels both modern and timeless, and characters you won't easily forget.
