We all have unfinished projects, plans, or promises we mean to finish. Sometimes life gets in the way of our best intentions or perfect planning, and things pile up. Once they pile up, the mountains become intimidating. Sometimes we get stuck on a "how to" or by having too many choices.

If you recognize yourself and your struggles with stitching projects, you are not alone. Lauren Yeager is here to help you eat those elephants one bite at a time!

In this process focused, independent study based class, you will learn a variety of great strategies to take your work to the next level and to finish up that stack of almost finished stitching projects.

This on-site experience will allow you to refine your design skills, learn about sophisticated color palettes, develop material expertise and technical competencies - all in a nurturing setting with access to the SFSNAD Collection and the Lucy Barter Needlework Library for research, inspiration and assistance. You will also have access to our design library, experimental tools and materials. You may work on one or multiple projects during your time at SFSNAD, and Lauren's assistance will be individualized and expert.

Once registered, Lauren will contact you in advance of the class to begin pre-work and to get a sense of exactly what you need to overcome obstacles - emotional, physical, and material! Once your time at SFSNAD is over, Lauren will follow up with support to help you succeed.

If you have a deadline to meet or a design you'd like to scale, if you need help overcoming bad habits or a new space to to explore, refine and question, this will be perfect for you.

Before coming to SFSNAD, Lauren worked as a production assistant for visual artist Nick Cave in his Chicago studio, building soundsuits for museum installations and private collections. She has extensive experience as a freelance artist, assisting in costume production for various performances and competitions.
