Art Sanctuary & Misty Sol Present:
The Fine Art of Wellness
Saturday, December 15th @ 3-6pm
Art Sanctuary Gallery (628 16th St)

Join us for an evening of socializing, vegan food and art making!

From Alice Walker, to James Brown, to Malcolm X, we'll reconnect historically and aesthetically to the idea that Black can be “Green”...together we'll create healthy spaces, images and stories of healing so that we feel empowered to “create” and “perform” wellness in our hearts, minds, bodies, families and communities. We're building a culture of wellness, one art event at a time!

"The more of us that know about this, the better life will be for all of us." -Dr. Sebi

"You might not realize it, but the healing journey can be joyous and adventurous. Everything depends on your vision!" -Deepak Chopra

This is an adult event!

SPECIAL SPOTLIGHT
Meet the #VoteThatJawn Grit Awardees:
Our Art Sanctuary Interns!!!

Help us congratulate our student interns on their "Most Grit in a Campaign" award for their work during #VoteThatJawn!

Thanks to Jordan, Amira, Mustafa, and Nafis' tireless work to encourage adults in their community to vote, they collectively registered 6 voters in our city! They were recently recognized for their efforts by #VoteThatJawn in an early November interview, and also awarded a cash prize. We are so proud!

FROM VOTE THAT JAWN:

"Turns out that one team went about registering vote—-even though none of them is yet old enough to vote. Art Sanctuary's interns, one 17-, two 15-, and one 12-years-old, invited Jawn animation artist José Rosero to help them merge the Jawn and Art Sanc logos for T-shirts they offered to new voters. They sent a call out on the organization's newsletters, went door-to-door, out on the street. They also worked over family members and neighbors.  Four underage Americans registered six people—and also did fierce studying themselves, for talking points and to get themselves ready when it's their turn. What if every team lifted one-and-a-half times their weight?"
