Help welcome author and Atlantic City native Turiya S.A. Raheem back to the gallery! She'll read from her second novel, Why We Choose, which explores why Black Muslim women choose Islam "despite its often negative portrayals of women."

Earlier this week, Lorene was honored at the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ) 2018 Awards Ceremony. She was one of several influential artists recognized, and we are so glad to see her work appreciated across our city!
