Supporting rapidly deployable energy and environmental solutions

The TomKat Solutions Program will provide resources for teams from the Stanford community to generate and advance solutions to problems that require timely action to avoid irreversible consequences.

For Academic Year 2021-2022

We are requesting submissions for solutions that will address the direct and underlying causes and consequences for one of these two specific challenges:
1) Tropical Deforestation
2) Greenhouses gases in the developing world

TomKat Innovation Transfer Program

The TomKat Center's Innovation Transfer Program assists Stanford University faculty, staff, and students in commercializing breakthrough technologies and innovations in sustainability. Grants are awarded to develop prototypes, to refine business plans, and to conduct customer trials and market research. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis in Fall and Spring quarter.

The Activate Fellowship: This fellowship provides two years of funding and connects fellows with the resources, knowledge, and networks they need to succeed. Activate works between government and the private sector, transforming scientists into high-impact entrepreneurs through a fellowship that guides them along every step of the journey. Learn more here
Bits & Watts Graduate Fellowships: This competition is open to Stanford doctoral students performing cybersecurity research for the future electric grid. These fellowships are meant to support advanced doctoral students (second year and beyond) to pursue innovative research projects beyond the proof-of-concept stage toward impactful applications.
