Looking Forward: What's Next?

Next month, we're coming together to ask God for further vision!

The European wave of asylum seekers has changed dramatically since autumn 2015, and with it, the needs and responses over the last 18 months. Many are wondering, "What next?" as we transition into a new season.

At the beginning of June, the YWAM Refugee Circle will come together in Amsterdam to connect, share stories, encourage one another and seek the Lord for His vision. More information and registration can be done here if you're interested in attending. The price to take part is now 120€ including food, bedding and coffee. Housing is filling up fast, so register soon if you're desiring to stay at the De Port YWAM base!

Doors continue to open for Y in Northern Iraq! We currently have a quality team on the ground there, involved in one of the largest refugee camps that houses around 200,000 refugees. They are involved in various projects and we are seeing immense favor and opportunity! There is a possibility of doing more extensive work in the camp, but a huge need for more staff (commitment of at least 3+ months).

Here are the current needs:

Community development

Administrative/financial workers

English teachers

Communications

Health workers

Those equipped to work with the disabled

Sports Ministry

Business as Missions.

Licensed counselors (specialized in trauma debriefing)

We ask that you prayerfully consider being involved, as there is deep need for committed, longer-term workers in the region (3 months or longer) . If you would like more information on getting involved, please reach out to us via info@ywamrefugeecircle.com

The Refugee Circle's continued involvement in the Middle East arrived in the form of a shipping container a few weeks ago.

Over the last 6 months, we have actively worked with multiple organizations and bases across North America, Europe and the Middle East to see a shipping container of medical supplies, food, equipment and goods to impact Northern Iraq. The container arrived and was unloaded this month, supplying our friends at Frontier Alliance International Relief with some much-needed resources as they continue aid efforts on the ground.

The story of this shipping container can be an example of what continued involvement in the region looks like! Windows of opportunity continue to open, and our hope is that this project becomes the first of many partnerships that create relief and relationship in the region.

Prayer Points:

Divine inspiration and vision as we seek God's heart for the long-term reaching of asylum seekers

God to stir and send long-term workers into the refugee crisis

Open doors for intentional partnerships across the NGO and aid world

YWAM to take its place at the relief work table in a substantial way; especially as it comes to engaging the Middle East

Raising a network that would help send resources, teams and aid into the Middle East region
