SINGLE USE PLASTIC BAN: STAGE TWO DETAILS

From 27 February, stage two of the State Government’s Plan for Plastics will come into effect.

This includes bans on single-use items such as coffee cups and all disposable plastic cup lids, trays for takeaway food (not covered in the stage one ban), lids for bowls, trays, plates and takeaway food containers and more.

Small businesses need to plan ahead for the impacts the ban on single-use plastic items will have on your operations, if you have traditionally relied on disposable plastic products to serve your customers.

Luckily, the Small Business Development Corporation has put together a quick guide to the changes, including the various stages and what questions to ask when purchasing single use plastic alternatives.

You can get up to date on all the information, here.
