Mark your calendar for more Caravan Protests for safe, socially-distanced protesting in support of our Black brothers and sisters.

Last month was our first one and we had about 45 cars! Let’s keep it up!

Each protest will start at 3pm on a Sunday. We will depart from the VUU parking lot. Here are the next three dates:

July 12th
August 9th
September 13

Have posters ready to tape to your car with painter’s tape. Window paint and black or red balloons or streamers from the antenna are also great.

Contact Noell Hyman or Melissa Bush for questions. We’ll see you through your car window on July 12th!
Greetings VUU members and friends!
I am thrilled to let you know that VUU’s Special Funds Committee, the group that manages our endowment fund, has granted $2,500 each to the Navajo Nation and the Arizona Undocumented Workers Fund. The money goes to help each group with COVID-related needs.

Most years, the endowment fund spins off a percentage of revenue that is available for grants. Typically, that money goes to special projects at VUU that are outside the annual budget. In this unusual year, the committee saw fit to express our solidarity with Native Americans and our undocumented neighbors via these donations which come from that grantable revenue. Thank you, Special Funds committee, for using the tools at our disposal to serve our mission of love, service, and justice!
With gratitude,
Rev. Andy

Please note that the original deadline for turning in notarized petitions has been extended to June 29th. We want your petition returned, even if you have collected fewer than 15 signatures. Every signature counts!

Please email  Bill Elliott or Denise McLeod for more information on available notaries and instructions for turning in petitions.

VUU has been asked by Arizona Interfaith Power and Light (AZIPL) to support climate action through spiritual reflection, education, action and by making a pledge to Vote with Climate and Creation in Mind this Fall.  Vote for candidates who support and advocate for Climate Action to preserve our Mother Earth.  VUU congregants Jerry Waters, Sandy Whitley and Jeff Grout are working with AZIPL towards this effort.  We encourage all VUU congregants to become Faith Climate Justice Voters!
Your Board of Trustees has voted to support the efforts of Arizona Interfaith Power and Light.  Please click the link below to pledge to consistently vote with the climate in mind:
When you are finished making the pledge, please send a quick note to Jerry Waters at stating that you have made the pledge. Since UU's Seventh Principle is "respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part", this should be one of the easiest decisions you will ever make.
Believe it or not the COVID pandemic has had some benefits.  Our Air and Water are cleaner.  The lack of gridlock on the highways has resulted in a longer life for these roads.  Has this mitigated the effects of climate change?  We know that our carbon dioxide emissions have been somewhat reduced, but MUCH more must be done, so please make your votes count this year by making sure the candidates that you support have a plan to clean up our air and water.
COVID 19 stole our 50th year Earth Day celebration this year, so let's make election day Earth Day!
Mother Earth thanks you for your support!
