Vicar of Dibley Party

On November 20, you are cordially invited to join Mother Geraldine, David Horton, Mrs. Cropley, and the whole gang from “St. Barnabus” in the fictional village of Dibley.  Let’s gather in the Parish Hall at “tea time” (3 p.m.) for tea, sherry, sandwiches, and a Mrs. Cropley Cookoff. Feel welcome to dress as your favorite character while we enjoy some favorite episodes from this hilarious British comedy from the 1980’s starring Dawn French. Invite friends, family, and neighbors. Suggested donation: $35. Please RSVP here!

Adult Christian Religious Education (Bible Study)

Advent Evening Series: Pregnant with Meaning: using creative arts in worship and prayer. Participants will enjoy a potluck meal together and engage in various creative arts to help them discern what will be born in their lives this advent season. Classes meet at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall on Nov. 30; Dec. 7, 14, and 21.

Youth Donut Dialogues

Sixth through twelth graders have the opportunity to gather every Sunday between services from 9:30 a.m to 10:10 a.m. for lively discussions with Fr. Elias and Paul Alvenarz. Donuts will be provided.

Outreach Ministries

Your Outreach, Thrift Shop, and Men’s Shower Ministries are in need of canned food, bottled water, socks, mittens, winter clothing, and financial resources. Your donations and prayers make a huge difference in your Outreach ministries. Need encouragement? Ask myself (Dallas Shannon) or one of our wonderful volunteers to share a personal story of how you’re helping some of these families.

November Sock Drive!

As the cold weather sets in, our Outreach Office is collecting socks. It is one of the first items guests ask for and, at this time, we have NONE. We will put a basket in the Glass Porch beginning November 1. You are also welcome to bring socks to the office any time during the week as well. Thank you for your support in this important ministry!

Pledges

We are $81k away from fulfilling our pledge payments for the year.  If you can’t remember where you are with your payments, statements are available in a box in the glass Narthex. We’ve also made significant progress toward our “stretch goal”—only $7k is remaining. Please considering adding an additional payment toward this goal!

Commitments for 2017

We are over halfway to our pledge commitment goals for 2017—with 55 pledges totaling $240k, we still have $192k left to reach our ministry goals!  If another 55 faithful Christians were to pledge an average of $3k annually (that’s around $200 per month—less than a cable bill!) we would have what we need to create astonishing worship, programs and service in 2017.  If you have been meaning to complete your form, now is the time; if you haven’t pledged before, this is the year!  Many thanks.
