For those of you who may not know, our long-serving board member Nuala Purcell (Photographer and Community volunteer) was unfortunate to have a bad fall earlier this summer which resulted in a broken ankle, broken toes and a fractured kneecap.
As you know, Nuala is a very private person and does not want to make an issue of this - nor does she want this widely advertised. However, as result of the accident, the reality of this she has been out of work for the last 6 months and has considerable medical bills to pay.
In order to help her out in a discreet way, the Tipperary Association has organized an end-of-summer BBQ in J.P. Clarke's beer garden for their members and friends of Nuala. Anyone who wishes can drop in and make a donation - the proceeds of the benefit will go directly to Nuala via the Tipp Association. It will be held this coming Sunday 15th from 3pm, a wide variety of entertainment and food provided so it will be a fun event with friends and community spirit supporting our loyal friend Nuala.
Nuala is widely respected in the community and the first to help out others. She has done so much work for the Aisling Center and the community over the years so I wanted to let you know the situation in case anyone wanted to donate personally. This is a low-key social event which will not be advertised by posters or social media, so if you know of anyone who might be interested in helping out, please be sure to let them know.
Should you not attend on Sunday and would like to contribute you can drop a donation into the Aisling Center and address it to Tipperary Association and we will make sure they receive it. You can also make a donation via Paypal to email@example.com or a check to Tipperary N&B Fundraiser, C/0 Noel Blanchfield, 19 Wilbur St, Yonkers, NY 10704
