I hope you're all doing well--or as well as can be expected given the current political and humanitarian crises. I wrote a similar sentence at the beginning of last fall's newsletter, too. Honestly, I thought that by now the US would be headed in a different direction, but after the past week, it's painfully obvious we're not. To my African American, trans, and Jewish sisters and brothers in particular, I am holding you in my heart. To everyone reading this, I know I'm probably preaching to the choir, but please VOTE. And take a friend along, too.
On to writing news: A Theory of Love, my standalone contemporary romance, is on sale in various e-book formats for only $4.99. It's also available in paperback. If you've already picked up a copy, thank you for the support. I hope you enjoy the story. Early reviews have been favorable. One reviewer says, "This book is now in my list of favorite reads," while another says, "Kate Christie's best novel by far." If you need a break from what's going on in the rest of the world--and who doesn't?--download the free sample on Amazon and give it a whirl.
In other writing news, the fourth (and possibly not
final) book in the Girls of Summer series is underway and due to be released in December or January. I'm including the cover for book four, though of course, I reserve the right to change it (as per usual) before publication. Thanks for all the title suggestions--they were awesome! The winner was Girls of Summer
submitted by... my wife. (Sorry, everyone else.) Runner-up suggestions include Final Whistle
by Petra H., The Golden Goal
by Amanda and Becky, and Love Rules
by Charley K. Who knows--maybe a future GoS series book will have one of these titles!
Now for the Girls of Summer giveaway news. I'll be giving away two copies of the fourth book one week before the novel is available for download. To qualify for the drawings, read on!
I've released three titles in the past few months:
To be entered in the first drawing for a free, early copy of Girls of Summer, you need only have purchased a copy of one of the three books listed above. If you've already bought one, reply to this email to have your email address added to the giveaway. If you haven't purchased one of these titles yet, pick one up and send me a note to let me know you have done so. To be entered in the second drawing for a free, early copy of Girls of Summer (which will probably be a smaller pool = easier to win), pen a review on Amazon or Goodreads for one of the three books listed above and send me a note to let me know that you have done so. If you've already written a review, let me know and I'll add your name to the second list.
Sign up for one or both of the giveaways. The deadline is December 1, so that gives you some time. On December 2, I will draw the winners and notify them by email. Once the final publication date is set, I'll let the winners know when they can expect to receive their free copy. I'm relying on the honor system, so no proof of purchase or review is necessary. But please do consider writing a review if you haven't already done so. Word of mouth helps books find readers, especially in a smaller niche like lesbian fiction.
Thanks for all of your wonderful words of support in email and on social media. They’ve meant a lot to me. Happy reading, and keep resisting. Fingers crossed for the midterms...
