In The News

In the news
Since the last issue there have been a number of articles in the media about the work RMPP is doing.  You can read about them on the news page of our website here.

We ran a short series through NZ Farmer on some of the people working in our partner organisations and their motivation for being involved.   These links are below:

The Long Trek Home - Greg Clark from Greenlea
Working with farmers a privilege - Shona Frengley from Alliance
No bad part to first job - Julia Galwey from ANZCO

Last week some of the Extension Project trial farmers from Silver Fern Farms were involved in a 'Pasture to Plate' experience in Auckland.  You can read more about what the farmers learnt here.

Results from our first year trial with farmers
The RMPP team are currently reviewing the evaluations from the first year farmer trial held with 75 farmers throughout New Zealand.  While the results of these findings will not be made public until early next year, you can read about what changes some of our farmers have been making here on our website.

We have a workshop organised to bring together these farmers in March next year.   This will be an opportunity to learn more about what successes and challenges that have had during the trial and look at next steps to scale up the work so that we can engage with a much larger number of farmers in 2017 and beyond.

Understanding Your Farming Business Programme ramps up in 2017
Earlier this month the announcement was made that another 2300 places were being offered for women on the Understanding Your Farming Business programme which is funded by RMPP and run by the Agri-Women's Development Trust.  For more information or to register please click here

What does your role involve?
As Programme Coordinator I oversee all six projects to ensure that they are tracking according to plan.  Within those projects we have about 30 workstreams so the team keep me busy!
