Woodcliff "Worship at Home"

Spring is stalling her arrival, snow seems to fall almost every day and many many people still seem to have Christmas lights up as signs of love and support. We can't see it yet but we know it's coming.
This week we look at the story of Doubting Thomas, a catchy nickname given to the disciple Thomas who struggled with the reality that Jesus had come back but insisted on seeing it with his own eyes. How brave. He wanted to believe. He missed the party. He missed seeing with his own eyes when Jesus came. He doubted. I can't blame him.
We live in a world so big and complex that we can't see things - yet we seek proof, we seek scientific backing, we question and doubt and fear what we can not see and cannot understand. With our hearts we want to believe in the good and real love of God - which we can not always see. To see what can usually not be seen, we have to want to see it and we have to want to believe - like Thomas. Jesus is showing us love in this scary time just as he always has, through people. Jesus reappeared to Thomas so he would know love and today we have the chance to see that unconditionally in the love others give to us and we give to them. There is love shown by handcrafted hearts in windows. There is love in Christmas lights still tinkling. There is love shown in smiles seen under masks, and distance given and space held and help offered. In this great love, do you believe?
Enjoy this week's virtual worship service and take time to consider the thinking questions we bring you this week in response to our worship.

If you wish, there is a downloadable PDF of today's order of service in the link below just before our worship video.
