I wonder why Moses cannot see the face of God… God’s hand must shield Moses from the embodiment of God because he would not be able to handle what he sees. Is this because it would be too glorious? Too pretty? Too…what? This is what I am wrestling with this week. I wonder what prevents us from seeing God. Is it because we just don’t have the hardware in our minds? Is it because we are scared of what or who may be staring back at us?

One of the only ways in which we are able to see God is when the Word becomes flesh in the person of Jesus. And that is often challenging enough when we think of social, economic and political status of Jesus.  And that is just a sliver of who and what God is.

In some ways, I give thanks that I cannot comprehend the form that God would take. There is something about the mystery of God that allows us to ask questions and search our souls.

Peace, Rev. Eric

As you reflect on Todays worship video consider the following questions:

Is there a time you have felt the presence of God in your life?

When you seek direction from God, what form does that come in?

While it is not the same as physically being together, God has shown us that the church is so much more than a building on a corner.  It is the people of God, praying for one another, gathering through technology, and reflecting the presence of Jesus in our communities. The work of the congregation continues and your offerings and givings help us do the work of the church. You may make an online offering on our website or you may call the office for other options including automatic withdrawals or mailed givings. Thank you for your support in this time and always.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21
