With great excitement - we would like EVERYONE to join us for a movie night outside! LION is based on the true story of Saroo Brierley who, at the age of 5, was separated from his family in India as he fell asleep on a train and woke up 1600 kilometers away from home.  Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories and unwavering determination he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.

You bring the chairs and cozy blankets, we provide the movie and outdoor heaters! We have arranged for a very special dinner - There will be a food truck serving Syrian specialties (the best Shawarma) from 5:30 onward for those wanting to buy dinner before the movie. There will be popcorn and hot chocolate for sale at the concession! Bring a friend or neighbour to keep you warm!
Imagine packing up and leaving behind everything familiar to start a new life in a new country with a new language. New Canadian Kid follows Nick, a young boy from Homeland, as he navigates a new school, tries to forge new friendships, and become fluent with the customs of Canada. Starring Woodcliff United Church youth and children! Tickets will be available for purchase in the narthex starting this Sunday and during the week from the office. New Canadian Kid is appropriate for all ages and runs approximately 40 minutes, each of the two performances will be unique with special musical guests adding to the entertainment. Invite friends and family for this special event celebrating the work of Outreach and Global Festival.
Only two spots left to join Freda for a day of fun and learning. Freda will be guiding the group through six hours of stitching. Lunch will be provided! Contact the office or sign up in the Narthex soon to reserve a remaining spot!
It's back! Sign up to host or to be a guest starting this Sunday. For more info contact Rhonda.
Please make plans to join Outreach for a trip to Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park on Saturday October 5. We will meet in the Woodcliff parking lot to carpool and leave promptly at 8:45 am.  There will be special programming for children. Friends and family are welcome! We need 25 participants to make this event happen. Please sign up in the Narthex.
Plans are underway for a great year!

The vision statement of United Church Women (UCW) includes a call to continuous prayer and learning, leading to action—and United Church Women across the church have faithfully answered that call for over 55 years!

“As women of faith… we believe in affirming and strengthening ourselves, both individually and together through creative study, prayer, and action,” says the UCW’s vision statement. During the UCW’s 55th anniversary event in 2017, support for a project at the Morogoro Women’s Training Centre in Tanzania was celebrated. The women have supported the training of hundreds of traditional birth attendants, who have saved half a million women and children from dying in childbirth.

Our gifts for Mission & Service support the UCW as it learns about our changing world. Imagine the strength of women who have learned about and taken action on gender justice and inclusion, truth and reconciliation, intercultural ministries, students and theological education, climate justice, the work of global partners, inter-faith initiatives, refugee support, and so much more!

The United Church’s Song of Faith states, “We sing of a church seeking to continue the story of Jesus by embodying Christ’s presence in the world.”

We are thankful that the UCW has been an example of what it means to truly love our neighbours!

If Mission & Service giving is already a regular part of your life, thank you so much! If you have not given, please join me in making Mission & Service giving a regular part of your life of faith. Loving our neighbour is at the heart of our Mission & Service.
