Fourth Quarter, here we come!

It seems crazy to say that, right? How is it possible that 4th quarter is here already? The end of the Moose year is a busy time, to say the least.  There is the Rocker Fundraiser; the Dart Tournament; the Bowling Tournament; nominations and elections; and preparation for the change in leadership within our FRUs, just to name a few.  Additionally, for all of you as trainers, this is a quarter where our training really begins to "ramp" up.  The number of classes offered increases dramatically to accommodate all of the women who are looking to fulfill the educational requirements necessary to achieve honors, for those who wish to learn more about how the fraternity works, and then, of course, the training necessary to hold officer positions. This means that many of you keep a pretty frenetic pace, working to provide training opportunities that best meet the needs of our members.  Envisioning the pace you will need to keep for several months got me thinking about running a distance race.  There is a lot of preparation that goes into running a race - both physical and mental.  Many runners make it their goal to "finish strong." Picturing that finish line ahead, my hope for our wonderful team of trainers is that you all finish strong this fourth quarter!

A Request...
Janet Fregulia, Director of Moose Charities, has asked me for your assistance.  Please remind all Administrators, Recorders and Moose Legion Secretaries, when conducting 2HOTT, SEC or Admin training, to earmark all checks written to Moose Charities.  The memo should indicate how the monies are to be distributed within Charities.  Some examples of what to write in the memo:
  • Endowment
  • Rocker Fund
  • Cradle Fund
  • Illinois House
  • Girls' Athletics
By earmarking checks, monies can be appropriated immediately.  Without an indication in the memo, the FRU must be contacted to determine distribution.  This slows the process down considerably.

Thanks for your assistance!
