We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run over.
~ Aneurin Bevan (1897-1960)

I have a collection of quotes – I know, say what you will, I’m kind of a dork like that – and as I was searching for the perfect one to use in a note I was writing to one of our Mooseheart cross country girls, the one above just kept nagging at me.  I couldn’t help but ponder how that very thought applies to me personally as a mom, a wife, a coach and, especially, as the Training Coordinator here at Moose International.  Goodness knows it’s been a challenge to bring myself up to speed with all things Moose.  I still have much to learn, no doubt about it.  That alone is enough to make me want to freeze in my tracks.  It would be very easy to keep things status quo. But, I have to ask myself, do I really want to stand still and risk getting "run over?" Who would that serve?  Certainly not our members and definitely not our kids and seniors at Mooseheart and Moosehaven.  Not to mention, how boring that would be.  Change, although hard, is exhilarating and for the most part good. It keeps us away from the inherent danger of standing in the "middle of the road," so to speak; something to consider as you read the pieces that highlight the recent changes as well those that preview things to come.

As always, I want to thank you for everything you do.  It has a huge impact on our fraternity and we are so lucky to have each and every one of you as volunteer trainers.

I hope you enjoy all that this issue has to offer.  Happy Reading! ~ Maureen
