Academic Skills for Success

EXAM JAM

Exam season is upon us! It is a stressful time of year. So, this Thursday, December 8, join your fellow students in Sid Smith for an open study space and a variety of de-stressing activities, including massage therapists, puppies, button making, adult colouring books, and a photobooth!

iSTUDY 2

InSIGHT presents iStudy 2, just in time for final exams! This session will be held TONIGHT (December 6) from 6 - 9pm. Come study with us in the Innis Residence Events Room, where you will find past exams, snacks, coffee and a finals care package!

FRESH START CONFERENCE

Even if this semester has left you with some academic setbacks, this is your time to thrive: attend the Fresh Start Conference, and learn how! Come to the Bahen Centre on February 4 at 9:45am to hear from alumni and professors about how they bounced back from academic setbacks at UofT. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Online registration is required.

Don't let exams stress you out too much - even if this semester has not gone your way, a new semester is right around the corner!

Arts & Culture

SCREENING OF "THE FORBIDDEN ROOM"

On Wednesday, December 14 at 7pm, Innis College & the Cinema Studies Institute present a special screening of The Forbidden Room with filmmakers Guy Maddin and Evan Johnson. A Q&A with Maddin and Johnson will follow.

Register for this FREE event here.

Diversity & Service

NO BIG DEAL CAMPAIGN

The NBD Campaign is a positive and affirming response to the current conflict around gender-neutral pronouns like singular they/them and ze/hir (instead of she/her or he/him).

Using someone's preferred gender pronoun is an easy way to show your support for everyone's right to live safely and well in their gender identity. It can make a world of difference when the correct pronoun is used, and when others begin to catch their own mistakes, say sorry, and just move on.

ALTERNATIVE READING WEEK

Reading week is just around the corner! Think about joining the Centre for Community Partnership for an 'Alternative Reading Week' that will allow you to immerse yourself in three days of volunteer experiences with various local organizations. Register to choose from a variety of wonderful programs!

International Experience

ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

Free, high-quality English Language Learning classes will begin again in Winter 2017!
