Strong Partners in Youth Employment
Zaina St.Louis Small is a current intern at the New York City Law Department through the JPMorgan Chase program at Futures and Options. Her work gives her the opportunity to learn more about the law, a field that she hopes to pursue in the future.
JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Partnership with Futures and Options
JPMorgan Chase & Co. has always demonstrated a commitment to creating youth employment opportunities, as evidenced by its four-year partnership with Futures and Options. This May, JPMorgan Chase reaffirmed its commitment with its five-year investment of $17 million to provide quality summer jobs for youths in 19 U.S. cities. This is just part of JPMorgan’s larger efforts to encourage skills development and increased economic mobility, towards which they have pledged $325 million on a global scale. At Futures and Options, JPMorgan Chase’s generous support enables 40 students to intern this summer at 30 different organizations, where they will learn valuable employment skills, gain workplace experience, and build professional networks.

JPMorgan Chase Intern Spotlight: Adama Fall
Last summer, Adama Fall interned at NYC Smoke-Free Manhattan through the JPMorgan Chase partnership with Futures and Options. His tasks at his internship included giving a presentation to kids at a local YMCA about tobacco retailers in their neighborhood, utilizing Google Maps to map out tobacco retailers, and creating posters that illustrated the results of such work. Recognizing Voya's Commitment to Futures and Options
For five years, Voya Financial has been a strong partner with Futures and Options in order to provide career opportunities to underserved youth. Since 2012, Voya has supported Futures and Options in a variety of ways beyond its investment in the Futures and Options Internship Program. In 2015, Voya hosted a group of Futures and Options high school students for a Career Exploration Field Trip, which included resume feedback, mock interviews, and a career panel guide.

This year, Voya awarded scholarships of $10,000 each to three Futures and Options alumni, Jenny Lee, Emily Cazares, and Klajdi Qoku, and they were named Voya Scholars. Voya Scholars is Voya’s higher education scholarship and career-readiness program for students who have previously participated in a Voya Financial or Voya Foundation charitable program. We are immensely grateful to Voya for selecting three Futures and Options students for scholarships. Voya will also host five Futures and Options interns this summer in its New York City office, and for the fifth year the Foundation once again supported the Futures and Options Internship Program with a $25,000 grant.

Additionally, in January 2017, our Board of Directors welcomed Paul Zemsky, Chief Investment Officer, Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions at Voya Investment Management as a director.  Paul serves on our Marketing and Technology committees, sharing his expertise and knowledge to help us achieve our growth plans.

We are would like to especially recognize Angela D. Harrell, Head, Voya Foundation & Office of Corporate Responsibility, Darcy O’Connor, Director of Corporate Responsibility, and Braeden Mayrisch, Director, Social Impact for their continued support, innovative programming, and encouragement.

Thank you, Voya, for making Futures and Options’ work possible and for maintaining such dedication to New York youth.
