November 2016

Looking forward to 2017

Our focus for 2017 is two fold.  First we intend to deepen our engagement amongst our members.  Our goal is to connect with as many people within our members as possible, spreading the word about the CHSA and our Accreditation Schemes.  We'll do this through regional meetings, our newsletter and of course our hugely successful Gala Ball and Annual Golf Day.

Second we will engage further with end users, the companies and organisations which buy and use cleaning and hygiene products. We are going to build on the work we have already done to tell them about the CHSA and the Accreditation Schemes, making it clear that if they want to be certain they get what they pay for and that what's on the box is in the box they need to specify membership of the CHSA's Accreditation Schemes.

We are considering a range of activities to achieve these goals including sales support, engaging directly with FM and end user associations, exhibiting at key conferences and a targeted PR and advertising programme.

Before we confirm the final plans we want to know what you think. What do you want from the CHSA.  What marketing support can we provide that will help you achieve your commercial goals and add value to your business?  Email your thoughts to our Secretary, Linda Belcher.

RNIB is chairman's charity for 2017

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has been selected as the Chairman's Charity for 2017.

The RNIB is here for everyone affected by sight loss. Whether someone is losing their sight or blind or partially sighted, the RNIB's practical and emotional support can help these people face the future with confidence.

Last year we raised a record breaking sum for the Chairman's charity - almost £15,000.  We're hoping to do even better this year!

A flying start for our Scholar

Our 2016 Scholar has been in touch, giving us an update on his first term at university.

The son of Helen Jackson, who works for Deb Ltd, Adam has a passion for his subject – Chemical Engineering.  He used the Scholarship to buy textbooks and support his studies.  It's obviously worked - he's averaged over 80% in his assignments during his first term.  It sounds like he has got off to a flying start!
