CEO Update | May 2016

Dear EIT Health partners,

With the official opening of our new headquarter in Munich on 3 May, we reached another major milestone in the young history of our organisation. I was delighted to welcome more than 150 guests - mainly from our partner organisations - here in Munich for a great celebration.

It was a good opportunity to network, exchange ideas and reflect our current activities
. Amongst our special guests of the evening, Ilse Aigner, Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology underlined our organisation's important contribution to shaping future healthcare. We are thankful for the great support that the Bavarian ministry of economics is giving us. The participation of Martine Reicherts, Director General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission, further shows the relevance of EIT Health within the European community and being connected to what exists already, as she highlighted in her speech. Furthermore, I would like to thank Ricardo Rueda from Abbott Nutrition, who spoke on behalf of all partners, for his inspiring words. This celebration brought us and all partners even closer together.

I am excited to see what proposals you have handed in and how our projects in 2016 are developing. Thanks again for all your great work during the last weeks, which have been very successful with a lot of events, workshops and meetings. Right now, we are already focusing on next year's Business Plan.

"May has been a very special month for us. We not only inaugurated our new headquarter in Munich. We also collected all new activity and project proposals for the Business Plan 2017. After some great ideation and matchmaking events, we are looking forward to study/review your submitted project ideas."
