CEO Newsletter | December 2016

Dear EIT Health partners,

EIT Health’s budget was approved by EIT for the coming year, and we are already preparing for 2018.
While 2016 was focused on building a strong foundation to stand on, 2017 will see an increased focus on developing a strong portfolio of projects and activities. The €33.2 million budget for our second year of activity represents an increase of approximately 60% compared to 2016. The project leaders of the approved activities have been contacted, and we are now preparing to get started as quickly as possible. We look forward to more than 50 new projects that will start as of January, and we will be presenting details of those projects on our website.
Some activities for the coming year are still being defined, with your input: EIT Health Campus is accepting proposals for its Call for 2017 Summer Schools and Short Courses, with a submission deadline of 16 January. Anyone with a proposal should see more here.
The Call for Proposals for our Business Plan 2018 was published on 19 December. We are seeking creative and innovative project proposals in all three of our pillars: Accelerator, Campus and Innovation Projects. The submission deadline for all of them is 12 April 2017.

Those who are considering or preparing proposals can find partners for them at the Matchmaking Event, running 1-3 February in Uppsala, where 300 participants will have a chance to meet well-matched collaborators. Detailed data in the registration site allows participants to outline the plans they want to discuss, and the kind of partners they are looking for, so they can set up meaningful connections and schedule fruitful meetings well before the event. Register soon, to make sure you don’t miss out on this opportunity. Find out more here.

"As we look forward to an exciting 2017, I would like to extend warm wishes to all our partners for good holidays and a happy, productive and prosperous new year."
