UK-Ireland Newsletter | May 2017

Dear EIT Health UK-Ireland Partners and Friends,

We received over onehundred inspiring applications from UK-Ireland based start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurs to the 2017 Accelerator programmes. I look forward to hearing from the Selection Panel regarding shortlisted candidates, who will then be invited to our training days on 18th and 19th July.

As for other good news, I would like to congratulate Sarah Harper, (University of Oxford) on her appointment as the Director of the Royal Institution. Sarah is involved in EIT Health’s CARE Campus project.

It was also exciting to see Imperial College and the University of Cambridge being ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in The Time's Higher Education University Ranking 2017 for the top 100 most innovative universities in Europe. Many other EIT Health academic partners both in the UK-Ireland region and European-wide did very well in this ranking. Congratulations to all.

Speaking of academic partners, I would like to remind our UK and Ireland based partners, who are interested in education projects, about our Partner Meeting with EIT Health's Campus Director Ursula Mühle, on 29th June.

As you will read in the sections below, there are lots of other exciting events coming up for both partners and entrepreneurs and I look forward to seeing you all there.
