Our First Newletter of the 2017!
2016 was a busy fun filled year for PIN! The Parents Inclusion Network turned 10 this year and celebrated with a fun night at the Cocobean Chocolate Factory.  We had our first pamper session in both Stranraer and Dumfries which was a great success. We recruited a massive 7 new board members all who are a valuable addition to the team. Our members numbers now sits at 657 families spread throughout the whole of Dumfries & Galloway and is growing daily! We hope everyone enjoyed 2016 as much as we did and are looking forward to making 2017 the best one yet!

Over 360 people travelled from far and wide to come to the conference which was organised by Dumfries and Galloway Autism Network and with the help of PIN! Feedback from the event has been excellent and Parents, Carers & Professionals all benefitted from the experience.
"A brilliant day, great speaker who has first hand knowledge of AS.This very much showed in his understanding of ASD, and the way he was able to engage with his audience." - Amber Niven

" Was a brilliant day. Never been to see him before. Great to see my sons school there learning a bit more about aspergers/ autism. Could relate to a lot myself and understand complexities I encountered growing up til now, as he was so in depth and engaging" - Yvonne Moore

Please look out for details of the forthcoming consultation on Dumfries and Galloway Children’s Services Plan for 2017 to 2020.
Q            What is the Children’s Services Plan?
A             By law, every local authority in Scotland has to have a Children’s Services Plan.  This plan is where the local authority, the local NHS Board and other partners set out their plans for how services for children and young people will be delivered in the authority area.  In Dumfries and Galloway our Children’s Services Plan will run from 2017 to 2020.
Q            Why is the Children’s Services Plan important?
A             Because this plan contains the joint priorities for children’s services for the Council, NHS and partners in Dumfries and Galloway for the next 3 years.
Q            How can parents/carers give their views?
A             There will be opportunities to give views using the PIN Facebook page in the next couple of weeks.
