Save the Date for UnBroken Spring 2017

While most of the planning is just beginning for the second addition of UnBroken Spring, our Houston-area regional burn, we do know the dates for the 2017 event. The event is designed to line up with the University of Houston/Houston Community College/Houston Independent School District Spring Break holiday. In 2017, this holiday is the week of March 12th.

This means we will be doing heavy event preparation/setup early in that week, and the actually UnBroken Spring event will take place from Thursday, March 16th to Sunday, March 19th. Mark your calendars!

UnBroken Spring Church Night on October 5th

UnBroken Spring 2017 is just around the corner! We'll share big announcements about this year's Houston regional event at the October 5th Church Night starting at 8:30PM.

As always, Church Night takes place at:
Houston Burners Warehouse
908G Winston St
Houston, TX 77009

You may have heard this or you may have heard that. Get the official word about leadership, theme selection, location, dates and other details. Yes, we will take questions and discuss to your heart's content.

You can contribute! We are looking for a diverse team to manage and implement various functions within the scope of the project. Whether you want a small time commitment or a vast and overarching one, put your name down on the interest sheets that will be circulated at Church Night! Alternatively, you can reach out to

Successful Debut for Our Art Car at Burning Man 2016

After months of hard work by our art car team and a difficult journey out to Black Rock City, our new community art car finally made its successful debut at Burning Man 2016, passing both its daytime and nighttime inspections. We're proud of this accomplishment as only 650 vehicles passed the strict new inspection guidelines put into place this year.

The car stayed in service all week ferrying campmates out to see deep playa art, making runs to Hell Station to refill camp generator gas cans, and serving as a comfortable home base for visits to various sound camps, sunrises, and burns. We set a new passenger record for our car on Burn Night on Saturday, carrying almost 30 people to and from the burn of the Man.

Thank you again to everyone who worked on the car in any way. Planning for 2017 will begin as soon as next year's Burning Man theme is released. Meanwhile, we're focused on fixing some of the mechanical issues on the car to make it an even smoother ride. If you'd like to help with the car, please reach out to Andy Brown at

A photo of the nighttime look of the car is above. Two more photos of the car in action are below.

Seeking Additional Monthly Donors

We continue to work to ensure the stability of our fledgling non-profit's finances. Our current monthly outlay for the warehouse is around $900 month. At present, we're only taking in around $150 in monthly donations through the website.

We hope you'll consider upgrading your free membership to one that pays monthly dues or supporting us in other ways. Every little bit helps. A $23/month subscription comes out to about $6 per weekly Church Night. To learn more, please visit the Donate section of our website.
Have You Had a Chance to Read the FAQ?

Do you still have questions about our new non-profit structure? If so, have you had a chance to read the FAQ on our website yet? The FAQ is located here.

The board has put answers to the most common questions we've received into the FAQ. We also discussed most of these frequently asked questions at a dedicated Church Night back in early August. That said, if you still have questions after reading the FAQ, please reach out to any of the board members.
