Our work is getting noticed!  The St Johns River-to Sea Loop Alliance has been awarded the prestigious Trail Promoter of the Year award by Florida Bicycle Association!  Florida Bicycle Association says they will present this award at our Spring to the Springs Family Fun Ride and Trail Celebration on March 20.

Here’s the announcement just received from Becky Afonso, Executive Director, Florida Bicycle Association
The Florida Bicycle Association is pleased to announce that St Johns River-to-Sea Alliance has been selected as our 2021 Trails Promoter of the Year. Your efforts and achievements for bicyclists are shaping our vision for bicycling to be safe, accepted and encouraged in Florida. Thank you.
This honor follows the recent award of Best Community Improvement Program by the West Volusia Regional Chamber.

We work hard to accomplish our mission to advance, advocate, support, promote and protect the Loop and conncecting trails and to increase active mobility in our region. This recognition from the community lets us know we're making a difference and helps keep the pedals turning.
Thank you to Florida Bicycle Association and West Volusia Regional Chamber.

New way to keep In the Loop

We're shifting gears. We have a lot to tell you about our new Partner and Friends programs and we have more news than ever before to report. But rather than make it TLDR (my college friends tell me this means Too Long Didn't Read) we’re down-shifting. If you want more details just click on the headings or images for the rest of the story.

March 20 at Gemini Springs

Celebrate spring with BBQ and high spirits!  Our Spring to the Springs Family Fun Ride and Trail Celebration is back and better than ever.  Our new location at the OK Corral at Gemini Springs lets us have check-in, ride start&end and Trail Celebration all at the same great place. Lots of food, fun and prizes for kids of all ages. Who knows - you might just encounter a tardy Leprechaun, witness a few shenanigans and find your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Friends and Family

We’re shifting to a Friends and Family membership program. From now on besides supporting trails and active mobility Trail Alliance Friends and Family members get admission to all ticketed events presented by the St Johns River-to-Sea Alliance. Lots of reasons for this if you care to dig deeper. If you're wondering how your dues contribute to trails and active mobility follow the link on the page. (If you're already a Friend don't worry - you're covered. We're small - we know who our friends are.)

DeBary Ribbon Cutting

On January 21 we celebrated another successful Ribbon Cutting at DeBary on January 21 with nearly 100 riders participating in the ribbon cutting ride that continued to Blue Spring State Park, topped off with a stop at Central 28 Beer Co   right on the Loop and our TrailBlazer Partner!  Special thanks to Volusia County for finishing the section, to Volusia County Sheriff for enthusiastic support and providing safe highway crossing and to DeBary Mayor Karen Chasez for recognizing the Alliance. Congratulations to DeBary for becoming a Florida Trail Town, being named Bicycle-Friendly Community of the year and becoming Florida's Trail Hub!
The following weekend we supported the Blue Spring Manatee Festival with a record number of manatees and lots of visitors interested in the bike trail.

Trail Day on A1A

Flagler County is celebrating Trail Day on A1A  in conjunction with Earth Day and Rails to Trails National Trails Day.  Ride, roll, walk, engage and celebrate on the A1A section of the St Johns River-to-Sea Loop at the Hammock Coastal area of Palm Coast. Goals include bringing people together to enjoy and use the path, learn about  safety, raise environmental awareness and enhance community support for the trail.

Trail Alliance Partner Program

Busineses, nonprofits and government agencies are invited to become partners to help advance the cause of trails and active mobility.  Help the Alliance advance, advocate, support, promote and protect our world-class trails and improve active, equitable mobility in the Loop corridor.
