May 11, 2020

We have completed six weeks of Distance Learning and I know everyone is feeling the challenges we are facing with trying to make this new way of learning work for the kids who want to be in school, the parents who want to be at work and the staff who desperately want to be back in the building with your children.  Our physical building is closed but our school community is not. Armatage Park Improvement Survey

Please take a few minutes to share your opinions and ideas about outdoor improvements at Armatage Park.
The survey results will help Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) staff to prioritize play area and other site improvements.
This survey is open through May 22 and is expected to be first in a series on prioritizing and designing improvements.

Tips for using Flipgrid

The idea of Flipgrid is for students to be able to share their voice and see other students from Armatage.  All videos are monitored for appropriate interactions. It has been a bit tricky when students access it but for those that have, it seems like they enjoy it.  Here is the link:

You may want to include the following or any of the above in order to promote the sharing:
  • If using a phone, the app has to be downloaded and used
  • The internet browser “Safari” doesn’t work, another browser has to be used:
    • Chrome, Microsoft Edge are recommended by Flipgrid
    • Close all other tabs
  • Sign into Google account right after link access-it should tell you what to do
Contact Marjorie Nadler <> with questions.
The Armatage 2019-2020 yearbooks are at the printers! Stay tuned for details about distribution. .

Greetings Armatage Families,
We miss seeing your children and all of you!  We hope that distance learning is going well, it is certainly not the same for any of us.  Here is the latest Armatage Parent SEL Connection.  We hope you will find this helpful.

The Holy Month of Ramadan

This year, Ramadan will begin on Thursday, April 23rd through Saturday, May 23rd.  Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year in Islamic culture, during which Muslims observe fasting from sunrise to sunset.

Many of our students and staff from the Muslim community may fast during this time, going without food or liquid for more than 12 hours a day during the 30 days of Ramadan. Although fasting is not required for children until they reach the age of puberty, some younger students choose to practice fasting. We need to keep in mind how this might impact our students’ learning and participation in school activities and etc.
