Dear PolitiFact reader,
I think we’re all sick of misinformation online.
One minute you’re looking at pictures of your friends' kids, and the next you see a headline so outrageous, it simply can’t be true.
But with a URL like BostonTribune.com or KMT11.com, it appears legit.
To make matters worse, the term “fake news” has become a standard claim used by any politician, or person, who doesn’t like what they hear. Take President Donald Trump: He used the term at least 400 times in 2017.
That’s why we're partnering with Facebook to help you sort fact from fiction in your social media feeds.
PolitiFact exists because you deserve the truth. We insist on the facts, and so should you. But we can’t do it without your help.
Will you help PolitiFact fight for the truth?
