Hello, lovelies!
We’re celebrating our publication IN THE AIR, a whirlwind of elemental tales that siphon the breath and fan the imagination, and we’re showcasing our authors and their stories. Get to know more about them below.
DJ Tyrer
What were you trying to achieve with this story?
‘An effective horror story’ would be the somewhat glib, but accurate answer. Hopefully, it moves smoothly from the mundane to the horrific, the hopeful to the hopeless, in a way which could be seen as almost possible.

Blake Jessop

What is something about your protagonist that only you know?
I like character-driven stories, so you know pretty much everything about Madison that’s important. She did get a tattoo of the USAF Test Pilot School patch when she graduated, though, and I know where it is. Unfortunately for everyone else, the Major isn’t telling.

Tim Jeffreys

Which scene was the most difficult to write and why?
The hardest scene to write was the ending. I changed it from the original idea at the last minute as I thought that was too obvious, and the ending I went for cast a new ambiguity on the whole story which hadn’t been there before. I struggled for a while with how abrupt this new ending was.

Lorraine Schein
What is something about your protagonist that only you know?
My character might be part of a society of other weather metahumans.
