Bushfire smoke - Advice from NSW Health

As smoke continues to hang around, it's important to recognise that this can affect people’s health and there are ways in which you can reduce exposure.

There is some good information on the NSW Government Health website about air quality related to bushfires. Have a read by clicking on the link below.

The website includes information on how you can protect yourself from bushfire smoke. There have been reports of serious health complications within the industry assoicated with exposure to smoke, so please do what you can to protect yourself and your colleagues. Recommendations include:
  • Follow your doctors advice
  • Monitor air quality and follow health messages
  • Avoid vigorous outdoor activity
  • Spend more time indoors
  • Spend time in air conditioned venues
DPI Fisheries, NSW Food Authority, NSW Farmers Association and myself continue to assist the oyster industry. If you are aware of any urgent needs of farmers in your area please get in touch. If you are aware of any damage and loss of infrastructure it would be appreciated if you could let us know.
