Oyster Industry Disaster Assistance & Support Sessions

Oyster farmers, farm hands & anyone connected with the oyster industry are invited to come along and learn about assistance available, discuss the impact of recent disasters, and hear from two Tasmanian oyster farmers who rebuit following catastrophic fires in Dunally a few years ago.
Two sessions will be held on the south coast.
  • Thursday 27th Feb. - Club Sapphire (Merimbula), 9am - 12:30pm
  • Friday 28th Feb. - Catalina Country Club (Batemans Bay), 9am - 12:30pm

These sessions will cover:
  • Financial assitance currently available
  • Mental health support
  • Updates from NSW DPI (Aquaculture) & NSW Food Authority 
  • The Tassie experience of rebuilding (Phil Glover - Blue Lagoon Oysters, and Ellen Cameron - Cameron's of Tasmania)
  • A feedback exercise to learn from farmers experience on ground
Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the session, providing further opportunity for conversation.
