This week at SOTH

This past Sunday, as we celebrated Jesus' Ascension, we were reminded that we have work to do here on earth: to follow the footprints that Jesus left on earth, and tell the story of new life that comes with Jesus' resurrection.

Following Jesus' Ascension, this coming Sunday we will celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit that sparked the birth and growth of the church in the world. There will be last-minute opportunities to read in different languages in the reading from Acts, so consider your willingness to try something new!

Peace and blessings

On Sunday, May 15, we have a special opportunity to celebrate and support the Flomo Family. Alex and Florence Flomo were blessed to be reunited with their daughter, Luvena, and Alex's Mother, Korto, who arrived last week from Liberia to live with her family here. Florence and Alex have been working on this reunion for some time now, and have put a lot of time, money and effort into the process. We will celebrate with the Flomo Family by welcoming Grandma and Luvena into our Church Family. There will also be an opportunity on this day to offer financial support to the family during this tremendous transition in their lives. You can contribute to the Flomo Family Fundraiser with cash or a check made out to Shepherd of the Hills with the memo: "Flomo Family Special Giving."

Altar Guild sets up for Communion and cleans up after Communion. If you would like to serve on the Altar Guild, please contact Barb Daab at 314-831-1568. All are welcome to come and serve.
