This week at SOTH

Last Sunday we celebrated the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the Church throughout the world. We welcomed Pastor Steven Ben-Naimah from the Lutheran Church in Liberia as our guest preacher. And our member, Suah Gweama-Tokpa, led us in songs from Liberia, supported by Daryn Holdsworth. Thanks to all who made this Liberian worship possible, including Suah’s friends who provided delicious Liberian food!

This coming Sunday we have two special opportunities to celebrate and support members of our community of faith: Jayce Hutson is graduating from 8th grade and we will celebrate this milestone together in worship. Nick Hauk will be leaving May 24 for Army boot camp, and we will have a blessing and sending for him and his family at the end of worship.

After worship we will gather in fellowship and fun at St. Ann Park, Pavilion 2, for our church picnic! There’s a basketball hoop, a playground, a horseshoe pitch and plenty of open space to relax and play and soak up the sun that is still in the forecast as of today! Bring the meat you’d like to grill, and a side to share, and kick back and relax with your church community this Sunday!

Peace and blessings

-Pastor Kristen
