Dear Olympic College Community,
As you may know, Olympic College employees across all divisions, departments, and job classifications are working hard on the ctcLink implementation project.
ctcLink replaces the current student management system, which was built in 1984, not long after Pac-Man came out. Implementation is being led by the State Board for Community & Technical Colleges (SBCTC), which will roll out ctcLink to all 34 community and technical colleges in Washington. Olympic College is part of the third deployment group, which goes live on March 9, 2020.
ctcLink provides a modernized user experience and changes many processes for students and employees. The new system provides self-service applications for students, faculty, employee, and managers. The graphic below (and attached) lists process and services that will be available in ctcLink. Other colleges in deployment group 3 include Cascadia College, Lower Columbia College, Olympic College, Peninsula College, and Pierce College. Previous deployment groups included:
- Tacoma Community College (deployment group 1)
- Community Colleges of Spokane (deployment group 1)
- Clark College (deployment group 2)
This is a massive change for not only Olympic College, but the entire community and technical college system. The college is planning a steady stream of communication for student and employees, in addition to training sessions and self-paced online courses.
We want to thank and acknowledge the 150 employees who are working to implement the new system, while simultaneously performing their regular duties. We also appreciate the patience, understanding and contributions of all college employees during this process.
If you have any questions about this project, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office and/or ctcLink Project Manager Rich Lunden. For additional information, visit the ctcLink intranet page.
