Safeguarding Children Awareness Training
Saturday 20 May @ 1.00 - 3.30pm

Venue: SLSNT Office, 62 Aralia Street Nightcliff

SLSNT invites all members to attend this session, especially those already involved with juniors, or likely to be involved with juniors.

SLSA has recently updated our Member Protection Policy to ensure the safety of children in our movement.

To help members understand their role in safeguarding young members, Taleah Neowhouse, SLSA's National Participation Manager will be in Darwin to run a Safeguarding Children Training Program.

SAR Team Information Session

Saturday 20 May @ 4.00pm
Venue: Casuarina Secondary College at the Maritime Academy (enter through the student car park off Moil Cres and head for the big shed at the back).

SLSNT Board Member, Andrew McGuiness (Benchy) will take us through this great facility, including a chance to try out their awesome shipping simulator. Ever wondered what it was like to captain a boat in Sydney Harbour whilst snowing - he can make that happen!

An update will be provided on the new ORB, member training plan to ensure we have enough skippers and crew for the new boat and other courses coming up that may be of interest.

Following the tour of the Maritime Academy we will move onto the Darwin SLSC to take part in a flare demonstration and enjoy the sunset.

This session is open to anyone - so whether you are a member of the SAR team or would like to know more about the SAR team come and join us! There are many ways for you to get involved and all training is provided.
