Wet Season Lifesaving Service
The Wet Season Lifesaving Service will be running again in 2017 and we are looking for lifesavers to help out.
Each patrol is about four hours around high tide on the weekends, and involves a Rescue Water Craft (RWC) and a car working their way from the Nightcliff Jetty to Lee Point and return.
The patrol focuses on providing information on the risks of using the water during the Wet Season to beach goers and water users. Over the years we have seen a number of people in the water, especially parents with small children, unaware of the risks of Box Jellyfish stings and we would like to continue educating the community so we can prevent the very serious consequences rather than treating them.
Numbers permitting we would like to run six weekend patrols from Saturday 28 January to Sunday 5 March.
More details will be sent out in the New Year but if anyone is interested in being involved please email SLSNT on firstname.lastname@example.org
