Setting up an RYA Super Yacht PWC / Jet Ski Training Centre

Guest Safety during Personal Watercraft use onboard Super Yachts is a concern for Captains and Crew. The RYA has developped clear standards in the safe operation of Jetskis (PWC’s).

Superyachts may apply to the RYA to become a recognised training centre in order to run teh ‘PWC Safety Course’ for Guests, Owners and Crew. Successful trainees receive an RYA certificate valid for the duration of their charter onboard the specified yacht, so they can then use PWCs under supervision.

Zephyr Yachting are here to help you through the application process with the RYA, from training crew to teach the PWC Safety Course, making your application to the RYA and the implementation of good operating procedures.

THE TRAINING …

To Apply for Recognition at the RYA you will need someone onboard who holds the RYA PWC Instructor qualification.

We can come onboard to train the crew or we run regular PWC instructor courses from our centre in Antibes.

THE OPERATING PROCEDURES …

Operating procedures for PWC courses and their subsequent operation need to be put in place. Zephyr Yachting offers a full service in producing an Operations Manual tailored to the yacht.

We understand you are incredibly busy, so by using Zephyr Yachting to write and build your Operations manual, you ensure that the Personal Watercraft Operations onboard your yacht represent best practice, ensuring that you are minimising the chances of incidents and maximising the safety of your Guests and Crew.

Confirmation of recognition …

Once RYA Training is satisfied with your application and/or inspection in all regards, recognition will be approved by RYA Training and a certificate of recognition will be issued.

From then on the RYA PWC Safety Course certificates can be issued.
