KRYZ Transmitter Update On July 17, KRYZ Radio's transmitter passed into the great beyond. Obviously this is a crucial piece of equipment without which we are unable to continue broadcasting, so we have no choice but to replace it immediately. Even a basic transmitter costs about $3,000 (better ones are at least $5,000), so needless to say this a huge financial hit for a tiny community radio station like KRYZ, who depends on the generosity of our listeners, underwriters, and sponsors to be able to broadcast. We would be beyond grateful for any assistance you might be able to give toward the purchase of the new transmitter.
Gratefully, The dedicated volunteers of KRYZ Radio

New fantastic searchable Mariposa Area Events Calendar there for all to use
Speaking of Events! There is a brand new community calendar website that we should all support and use: https://www.mariposacalendar.com/ which is a fully searchable and sortable calendar. You can search events by date, location, event type, etc. There are also different ways to display the calendar and search results. It is extremely user friendly and interactive. Most importantly, anyone can add their own events at any time for inclusion on the calendar. This is by far the best community calendar we have ever had, and I highly recommend everyone utilize this great resource.
We also embedded the community calendar on our Facebook page under the tab entitled "Community Calendar" (https://www.facebook.com/KRYZRadio/app/208195102528120/
but that special tab is only visible on the computer -- not via mobile. However, the FB version looks and works exactly the same as the web version. (Please note that on Facebook, the "Search" field is to the right of the "Submit Event" button, but you can type into it.)
Now, anytime you are on the KRYZ Radio website or KRYZ Radio Facebook page, and want to know what is happening that week or weekend, you can easily access the community calendar to see what's going on or to submit your own events.
I would also like to encourage other local organizations and businesses -- particularly those who regularly share or post about area events -- to embed this new fantastic community events calendar.
We've needed something just like it for a very long time, and if we all utilize this great resource, our new calendar has the potential of being the best community events calendar we have ever had and that we can all benefit from. Thank you.
